March’s Messiest Drain Award
One of our local restaurant customers in Darien, CT called with an urgent request because their 3-bay sink was backing up. We were familiar with their facilities because we already service their grease trap on a quarterly basis as required by the Board of Health. However, the restaurant had experienced an uptick in business and was using the sinks a lot more. This was causing extra grease to creep into the drain lines and cause obstructions. It was a simple fix for our guys who jetted the lines and got the sinks draining and water flowing again, pronto!
The owner realized this setback was a great inconvenience to his kitchen staff, and it was ultimately affecting service to the customers. To prevent this from happening in the future, he switched his quarterly grease trap service to monthly and scheduled regular jetting service as well.
Even if you’re enrolled in grease service that abides by health laws, it doesn’t necessarily mean you are getting the correct service for your particular business. The laws are designed to be a general guide, but don’t take all factors of every organization into account. It’s best to have one of our Kaiser-Battistone professionals evaluate your water use and determine the ideal frequency for your maintenance appointments. Contact Us, and we’ll be happy to design a custom plan for you.
