Sweet Air and RootX

If you’re having problems with odors and smells, then you may need Sweet Air from Kaiser-Battistone. In the 65 years we’ve been doing septic, we’ve heard this problem the most. The Sweet Air Filtering Device is a filter that removes foul air which flows through house vents each time a shower is run or a toilet flushed. This device is inexpensive and can be installed by Kaiser-Battistone on your existing vents. You won’t have to worry about embarrassing odors ruining any more patio parties.

Root intrusion is a part of plumbing that is always hard to deal with. Should you totally replace the pipes or just work to heal the root intrusion? Kaiser-Battistone has the answer in the form of RootX, a non-systemic patented chemical root control forumla. RootX is environmentally safe and is the #1 root killer on the market today. RootX comes as two dry components. When you add water, these components create a sticky foam. This foam fills the entire pipe, coating the roots and pipeline surfaces with the RootX formula. This leaves a residue above the water line that continues to kill roots and inhibits new growth for up to 12 months. If you’re interested, a Kaiser-Battistone technician can apply a treatment to your pipes. Ask Kaiser-Battistone about an annual maintenance program with RootX.

Duff, business come to rescue of single mother

By CHASE WRIGHT

Hour Staff Writer

Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks, and Norwalk resident Angela McFadden has plenty to be thankful for.

She has two healthy children and a job she’s managed to hold onto despite the difficult economy. But McFadden is also thankful for the graciousness of the Norwalk community.

Earlier this month, the 30-year-old single mother found herself in a jam — a nasty drainage clog had made the home she rents on Pogany Street virtually uninhabitable.

The family of three was unable to shower, use the toilets, rinse dishes or wash clothing. Even using the sink to brush their teeth created problems.

When we ran the water, the basement would flood,

McFadden said.
It was a big, big inconvenience.

Fixing the problem was beyond her control, and when the house she rents fell under foreclosure, her landlord skipped town, moved to California and stopped her returning her phone calls, McFadden said. The bank in position to take ownership would not fix the problem until mid-December when the house became theirs, McFadden said.

She started reaching out to area service providers, government officials and the Norwalk Health Department, but said her pleas merely fell on sympathetic ears.

I was at my wits end,

she said.
Nobody could do anything for me.

Expecting the same rejection she was all too familair with, McFadden reached out to state Sen. Bob Duff, D-25, who listened and pledged to help, she said.

She was in quite the conundrum, and she didn’t have anywhere to turn,

Duff said.
I couldn’t just ignore her problem.

The District 25 senator contacted the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, who put him in touch Kaiser-Battistone, a plumbing and septic company located on Van Tassell Court.

Duff called the company on Friday morning and by the day’s end, received a call from the manager telling him the problem had been taken care — free of charge.

It was actually a pretty-quick fix,

said Bill Hall, manager of Kaiser-Battistone.
We were more than happy to help out.

The problem may have been a quick fix for septic specialists, but McFadden said she had been living without running water for nearly a month. Her family relied on the kindness of neighbors to shower, use the toilet and wash dishes, she said.

Their generosity went a long way, and I’m very grateful for that,

McFadden said.

Terralift from Kaiser-Battistone

Got a septic system that’s failing and think that your only option is expensive excavation? Well there’s something better: Terralift. Terralift revitalizes your septic system and your lawn, for much less time and work than traditional septic system revitalization.

Terralift doesn’t use chemicals and doesn’t pollute your lawn. It uses a long, narrow probe combined with a pneumatic hammer to penetrate the soil and force high pressure air in to the ground. This breaks up the soil and creates a network of new fissures and cracks beneate your lawn.

Next, Terralift’s exclusive parallel system injects polystyrene pellets into the fissures and cracks, which maintain the passageways and allow continued percolation of liquids away from the field.

This process can compeletly rejuvenate your failing septic system without excavation. So why waste your time and money on traditional septic system rejuvenation when you can have Terralift from Kaiser-Battistone?

Septic Cleaning

As experts in the area of septic cleaning, we’ve seen a lot. But many of the problems that we see on a daily basis can be prevented if the septic tank owner is informed about the different ways a septic tank can fail. So what is a septic tank? A septic tank is a type of natural filter, that harnesses the power of an organic breakdown process to filter out the solids and grease that accumulate over time from household waste. The liquids in a septic tank are sent to a leaching area or soil filter that cleans the liquids and allows for reabsorption into the environment. The solids that are left over are slowly broken down by the organic process, which is powered by beneficial bacteria.

So how can the system fail? If solids somehow get into the leaching pipe, they can clog it and the septic system will backup. This can be caused by one of two things. The first is sludge buildup, which is mostly due to lack of sludge removal by septic tank cleaning. The second cause is a bacterial deficiency. Bacterial deficiency can be treated with one of our products, KB-X-TENDR.
